Cairns Property View February 2018

February 2018 Cairns Property View

Cairns looks to be off and running on a positive note this year with the following developments in place for 2018;
1. Hemmingways Brewery & bar to open on the Cruise Liner Terminal mid-2018
2. City Centre Alive continuing to develop art spaces etc. in the City heart.
3. Shangri-La Hotel on the Marina transforming 184 rooms during the year.
4. The first of the Crystalbrook Collection hotels “Riley” will open in August.
5. Expansion of the Convention Centre with new exhibition spaces mid-year.
6. Continuation of the $100m redevelopment of Rydges Tradewinds Esplanade
…and these are just to name a few.

On a residential note, MEDIAN house prices in some Cairns suburbs could jump by more than $20,000 within the next six months, according to a new realestate.com.au analysis.

But would-be Far North buyers and sellers have been urged to take the projection with a pinch of salt. The REA breakdown draws on CoreLogic sales data from the past three years to give an estimated median house price for suburbs nationwide as of March 31, 2018.

HTW Valuers latest report quotes: “Median property prices are continuing to head sideweays for houses, but are moving slightly upwards for land and slightly down for units.”

I look forward to helping you with any of your real estate needs through the year.
